Powered by P&WC PW127M engines, the multi-class ATR72-600 turboprop’s May 2016 North American tour had stops in Toronto, Chicago, White Plains, Hyannis, Washington D.C., Dallas, Seattle and Cincinnati, with a static display at the Regional Airline Association Convention (RAA) in Charlotte.

The ATR72-600 achieves 50% less fuel consumption than similar-sized regional jets, delivering lower operating costs and eco-efficient regional operations. P&WC has supplied regional turboprop engines to ATR for the past 30 years and welcomed the opportunity to support ATR’s renewed efforts to promote its aircraft’s benefits to potential customers in the United States and Canada.

P&WC has launched customer trials of a new oil analysis technology for aircraft engines that could significantly facilitate proactive maintenance interventions and drive increased aircraft availability.

P&WC has launched customer trials of a new oil analysis technology for aircraft engines that could significantly facilitate proactive maintenance interventions and drive increased aircraft availability.

The highly sensitive technology detects minute particles within engine oil, allowing for the identification of deterioration in specific oil-wetted components well before a potential event occurs without having to remove the engine. Customers interested in participating in the trial may contact their Field Service Representative (FSR) or visit the oil analysis technology trial section of P&WC's website for details.

The NGRT is a totally new centerline engine that will deliver more than 20% improvement in fuel efficiency over today's fleet – and a double-digit reduction in maintenance costs. It features a revolutionary new compressor and a state-of-the-art propeller and nacelle, among its many cutting-edge technologies, materials and manufacturing processes.

The NGRT is highly scalable, allowing P&WC to create a new family of engines to cover the 4,500 shp to 8,000 shp envelope, making it ideal for the 90-seat aircraft range – a segment poised for strong demand over the next decade and beyond.
